Menard Animal Protection (MAP) was first organized as a committee of Menard County citizens interested in the welfare of local dogs and cats. We incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 2004. Through the years, MAP has evolved from a group who provided needed support to the County’s Animal Shelter to one who began to focus more on general pet-related local needs. Through donations, fundraising events, and memorials, MAP has funded many shelter-related projects and has supported numerous Menard County residents with pet-related medical care.
Over the years, MAP has advocated for a new shelter to replace the existing County Animal Shelter which is outdated and at the end of its useful life. As this priority is now becoming a reality, MAP is also expanding its focus to increase community awareness of this building project and to help the County Board secure additional needed funding for the building.
MAP members volunteer their time, and all funds go directly to support the mission and goals of the organization.
MAP is focused on the safety and welfare of animals in Menard County, Illinois. Our mission is to promote spaying and neutering of pets, educate the public, and encourage and promote pet adoption within our community. We also support the Menard County Animal Shelter with needed supplies and services.
